LYRICS

Thank You

Got your letter today

looked like it was written in the fetal position,

Balled up and crying.

And I gotta say,

I think you’re coming to me ‘cause you’ve seen me in that condition,

One too many times.

Pre-chorus:

You say you did

The best you could,

What do you do,

When nothing good seems to come of it all, of it all?

Chorus:

Do you walk away,

Take a hike

And find someplace else that you might like a little better,

Some fair weather?

Or do you stick it out,

make it work,

Dig your hands a little deeper down in the dirt and say Thank You,

when you put em together...

say Thank You?

You say you only know

love in the end, when you’re broken and bent,

Don’t it always seem to end the same?

And now you wanna go

Be an anonymous face in a brand new place where no one

knows your name.

Pre-chorus

Chorus

Solo

Bridge:

Once upon a time, now darling,

You never wanted to see me again.

Oh, but what a crime it would’ve been

If you really would have lost yourself a friend

Pre-chorus

You say you did

The best you could

Is it really true

that nothing good ever comes of it all?

Wake Me Up

Woke up in the middle of the night screaming “Wake Me Up!”

Didn’t seem like a scary dream, but it must’ve been scary enough

We were both just lying here, like we are right now

Only things were strange and everything had changed somehow.

All my life I’ve wanted something, I just never knew what

All I knew is that i wanted it and that never really has let up.

Even when I seem to have it all, I still want some more

In the dream I saw a light upstairs and I opened up the door,

and I screamed...

Chorus:

I don’t wanna dream no more,

Wake Me Up.

Don’t wanna see behind that door,

Wake Me Up.

I don’t know where we’re going but it seems to be

the only dream I wanna have right now is lying next to me.

When I was just a school boy, I went through a spell,

I could fly through my dreams all night on account of my own free will.

Only catch is I’d wake up if I ever flew out of bounds,

Maybe I’m still back on the playground flying around and around....

Chorus

Solo

You are so patient with me, like no one else,

You may give me more chances than you give yourself

I don’t know that I deserve you loving me the way you do

But I’m started to get it babe, you’ve had a few bad dreams too.

Chorus

Wake me Up 8x

Honeybee

Suns going Down on Alder Street

Air is getting cold, two friends, two souls

are on the porch

and I swear to God I can still hear Willie through the door.

And it ain't hard to remember the words

that took my mind away from all the heartache and the grey

that held me down

in that first round.

And its alright, and its ok,

And if it weren't for you I don't know where I'd be today

Chorus:

Did I tell you?

Did I say?

Did I mention my friend that you're sweeter than

sweeter than Honey from a Honeybee?

And it's so easy to think of you my friend

I do it all the time, but it's still so hard to find the words to say

when they slip away into the whirlwind of time.

There's still so much to learn, so much to realize

but as the story of our lives unfolds before our eyes

I gotta say, I'm blown away.

And it's alrght, and its ok,

'Cause the love I got for you my friend is the kind that does not stray

Chorus

Solo

You know my love, it will not stray

But since every moment passes, every moment slips away

Sometimes I can't remember, will you refresh my memory?

Chorus

End
